If you love cake, treats and all things sweet then you are in the right place!
In 2016, I took the decision to turn a long held dream into a reality and thus Sophie’s Cupcakes was born. Recently I have been thinking, no one likes buying something from someone they do not know, right? Therefore, I thought introducing myself would make a perfect first blog post! I live in a small town in Lancashire called Wesham with my husband Matt and our gorgeous King Charles Cavalier – Bella.
I have had a passion for baking since I was a child and was always the go to person for friends and family celebrations! Despite this, I actually graduated with a 2:1 degree from Loughborough University and then went on to train as a Sociology teacher, a little bit different from baking!
My baking journey initially started underneath a gazebo selling cupcakes and tray bakes at local Lancashire Farmer’s Markets however as my little business began to grow I decided it was time to escape the unpredictable Lancashire weather and I am now able to devote my time to creating edible works of art. I specialise in wedding cakes, birthday cakes, christening cakes, baby shower cakes or just for the love of cake cakes!
The recipes that I use have been passed down through family generations (some of which I will be sharing with you over the upcoming months!) and I take pride in producing fresh, homemade products from high quality ingredients! I would say that I definitely have a style and that is buttercream cakes! I love drips, fresh flowers, chocolates, macarons and all things pretty.
My dream for this blog is to give you an insight into what it is like behind the scenes here at Sophie’s Cupcakes, share some amazing recipes with you and keep you up-to-date with all things cake!
